We are currently seeking a hardworking, motivated Pressure Equipment Integrity Engineer to fill a temporary site secondment role in Redwater. This position is expected to start ASAP and will wrap up by the end of August. If you have a Mechanical Engineering degree, a Professional Engineer designation recognized by APEGA, and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in an operating plant, we want to hear from you!
Reporting directly to the Pressure Equipment Integrity Engineer Lead, this position with work closely with Operations and Maintenance in support of the day-to-day operation of the refinery as well as the integration of minor projects.
What You’ll Do:
•Works closely with the maintenance, operation and reliability team to resolve issues
•Provides support for fitness of service assessment, repair specifications, re-rate assessment, failure investigation, purchase specification, risk-based inspection, etc.
•Provides design support and engineering work packages for minor projects and plant changes through the facility management of change process
•Provides support to turnaround activities by being available during turnaround to provide consultation, prepare repair packages, etc.
•Provides input into shutdown scope development based on previous history and known future issues
•Provides improvements to plan operation and reliability through innovative engineering and resolve root cause performance problems with static pressure equipment
•Provides mentorship in reviewing and authenticating engineering work packages
•Other duties as assigned by your Lead
Your Background:
•Have an extensive knowledge of commonly used design and fabrication codes as well as post construction specifications for pressure vessels, furnaces, heat exchangers, process piping and tankage
•Knowledge of and experience using mechanical design tools for pressure equipment (such as Compress, CAESAR Pipe Stress Analysis, JADE FEA) to support design verification and FFS assessment
•Knowledge of materials engineering including refractory is an asset to aid assessment of suitable materials and their fabrication as part of the design or repair process
•RBI Development in a multidiscipline team for key units
•Participation in Root Cause Failure Analysis for pressure equipment
•Knowledge with the jurisdictional requirements for pressure equipment in the Province of Alberta
