At Commonwealth a Power Generation Civil Structural Engineer develops and applies engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex and unique engineering problems. This person will work on large and multiple units in a full combined cycle turbine projects as a member of the civil structural team. This role is also responsible for developing, validating, and presenting technical output and may provide leadership for the development of deliverables to clients.
- Provides clarity on or interprets standards based on experience and helps others understand the industry, client and company's standards. Assists with updating company standards.
- Ensures compliance with company quality program through individual and team related tasks or deliverables, while applying and integrating Owner’s QA programs with Commonwealth programs.
- Attends and frequently leads internal and external client meetings, communications, conference calls and client site visits, communicating client needs to project teams.
- Coordinates technical aspects of projects and makes project engineering execution decisions within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, guides and contract commitments.
- Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis problems and methods.
- Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications and studies with limited supervision for moderately complex or multiple projects. While managing C/S engineering tasks of others, including engineering schedule and budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, coordination or design, procurement, and construction.
- Projects experience includes Power Generation, full combines cycle
- Designing and overseeing technical aspects of projects and providing guidance and mentorship to professionals.
