Portal Mines - Underground Tireman (Tech 4 or Higher)

Description for Internal Candidates

+ Ability to work independently and stay on task.

+ Ability to run a test light.

+ Install brake and front-end components. + Diagnose and repair TPMS systems. + Dismount, mount, and balance light vehicle tires. + Replace U-joints and drivelines. + Replace alternator and fan belts.

Equipment operation

+ Ability to operate boom truck.

+ Ability to dismount and mount single and multi-piece wheels. + Ability to recognize damaged or worn-out wheel components. + Knowledge of tire classification, ability to identify basic markings on sidewalls: tire size, serial numbers etc. + Ability to operate all hand tools associated with changing OTR tires. + Ability to safely dismount and mount OTR tires.
