Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Plant Maintenance Supervisor
Summary/Objective
The Plant Maintenance Mechanic maintains equipment including repair and replacement of equipment including bar screen, grit collector, gearbox, and various pumps located at the Treatment Facility.
1. Perform repairs including welding, electrical and plumbing, fabrication

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Work is performed in treatment plant. Exposure to all types of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold, wet areas, slip and trip areas. Employee is frequently exposed to raw sewage, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to drive; operate fork truck, climb ladders, bend; talk, hear touch and smell. The employee is regularly required sit, squat, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry objects up to 100 pounds. The employee will work in confined spaces and work from high areas. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Schedule
This is a full-time position. Multiple shifts. Must be available for 24-hour callout. Participates in Emergency Response System.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum High School diploma or GED

Valid driver’s license
