The Nuclear Island (NI) System Engineer leads the sodium leak containment and collection system design team and provides in-person integration and oversight support for various NI ancillary and radwaste systems owned by the Natrium EPC partner located in Reston, VA. The NI System Engineer also provides leadership, integration, and support for Natrium’s sodium fire protection design. This position supports and reports to TerraPower’s EPC Design Integration Senior Manager.
The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative design support and oversight for a wide range of nuclear island systems, with emphasis on sodium fire protection, leak detection, collection, and containment. Support and oversight includes cross functional and inter-disciplinary integration, review of deliverables for technical accuracy, and integration with licensing, safety analysis, and PRA. The NI System Engineer will work as part of a high performing team of engineers.
