- Role and reporting structure:
The Planning & Scheduling Lead reports to the Project Controls Lead/Office Manager and may work within the client’s team for EPC services contractors focused on oil and gas receiving, storage, and export terminals.

Responsibilities include developing and managing project schedules, performing critical path analysis, coordinating with project stakeholders, monitoring progress, preparing reports, supporting budget forecasting, and mentoring junior staff.
- Qualifications and skills:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years in project scheduling within Oil & Gas, proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar software, a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, strong project controls knowledge, communication skills, analytical abilities, and relevant certifications like PMP or PSP are advantageous.
- Compensation and Duration:
Role will be on an agency basis under an LLC, compensation ranges between 50 to 70 USD per hour based on experience – duration expected to be a minimum of one year.

Planning & Scheduling Lead based in Houston, TX, you will play a critical role in a project delivery. Your experience and expertise will help drive project timelines, optimize resource allocation, as well as, compiling and delivering, recovery plans when and where required. This position requires a strong understanding of project scheduling software (Primavera P6 is a must), industry-specific processes, and a proven track record of supporting projects.
Home and Houston project office-based Planning & Scheduling Lead will lead schedule and key milestones preparation and management. Hours will be 8 per day from 7 to 4pm or 8 to 5pm. While maintaining the project critical path and supporting the Project Team Planning & Scheduling Lead shall have the following responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage the delivery of the project schedule, including the development of s-curves, manpower histograms, critical path analysis, recovery plans as required.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather input and ensure the schedule reflects accurate project timelines, milestones, and resource needs.
- Agree methods of measurement. Monitor the progress of projects to ensure timely completion and proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or delays.
- Perform critical path analysis to highlight potential risks and propose mitigation strategies. Coordinate with onsite teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management, stakeholders, and clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in scheduling tools and software.
- Support budget forecasting and cost control by aligning project schedules with financial objectives.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior schedulers and project staff as required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project scheduling within Oil & Gas with a focus on EPC planning for medium sized projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or proven track record in Senior Scheduling roles for more than 15 years.
- Minimum 5 years in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and project management principles.
- Familiarity with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and senior management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, analyse, and resolve scheduling issues in real-time.
- PMP, Project Scheduler Professional (PSP), or similar certifications are a plus.
