SUMMARY: Operates the Computerized Maintenance Management System and City work champion including but not limited to data input, generating work orders, generating reports, scheduling work orders, tracking labor, tracking materials, purchasing material, and tracking equipment. Assist to ensure compliance with City and State construction permitting. Works independently to accomplish goals and objectives set by the Superintendent of Field Services. Coordinate the planning and scheduling functions for Field Services. Communicates both orally and written to the Superintendent of Field Services, Assistant Managers and customers. In addition, all other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Street cut invoices for private contractors
- File and organize all paperwork for Field Services
- Updates on call list weekly
- Oversee locate tickets
- Oversee city permits
- Submit Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders
- Order Materials such as Gravel, Dirt, etc....
- Assist with obtaining Locate Tickets, City Permits, and DOT Permits
- Schedules Training and Conferences for Field Services
- Compiles Board Report information and Report
- Compiles Benchmark and CMOM Data
- Makes travel arrangements for Field Services Staff
Develops and maintains reports concerning human resource utilization, work progress, and disposition of materials.
Generates reports of various types on weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedule. Generates non-standard reports as needed.
From time to time, this employee may be called upon to perform other duties as deemed necessary by his supervisor.
Dispatches all emergency response calls through radio, telephone or direct contact with field personnel.
Communicates with customers to address complaints associated with CWW activities.
Provides data to the Vice President of Field Services, Superintendent(s) and Coordinators to coordinate activities for first shift activities concerning Water and Wastewater Operations.
Is responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of work units within Field Services. Directs the daily activities of Data Entry Clerk.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of principles and practices of Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection, as applied to water works utility. Ability to operate computerized equipment. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required. College or Technical School training courses in computer software courses and applications. Two years’ experience in Wastewater Collection and/or Water Distribution operations and maintenance or any combination of education and experience. Ability to perform basic mathematics skills, read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Access, Power point, CIS System, City Works, Kronos, Microsoft Query analyzer, MS Projects, CMMS and additional database experience preferred. Extensive oral and written communication skills required, this position provides data and receives input from a wide range of audiences including customers, executive management, and other CWW employees. Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret various graphs and charts. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Must have a firm understanding in the operation of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Access, Projects or Sure track.
Ability to evaluate job requirements based on written, oral or schematic instructions and to translate the instructions into a work order format. Ability to make recommendations for the solution of practical problems based on various types of data input.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment, but on occasion will be required to visit job sites to view the work progress.
