Position Summary: Work includes coordination, installation, and repair of sanitary, storm, domestic water, fuel oil, and natural gas fixtures and equipment for plumbing systems and heating and cooling systems for heating work. Individuals should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other people on the project, including our subcontractors, and represent Commercial Air Systems, L.L.C. in a professional manner. Focus on safety and safety practices first and foremost at all task inceptions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Responsible for onsite activity regarding manpower, materials, and scheduling within a specific area or work location on project.
•Ensure that safety is the number one priority on the project.
•Assist with the direction of coordination issues.
•Attend coordination meetings that involve Commercial Air Systems, L.L.C.’s scope of work as needed or directed by Project Manager.
•Minimize downtime by scheduling all work to be performed by employees. Lay out all work for crew. Have a contingency plan to ensure the crew is always productive.
•Ensure all tools, equipment, and material are on-site when needed and returned when not needed.
•Manage personnel, subcontractors, and vendors appropriately, building teamwork and morale by making fair and honest decision making.
•Attend, as required, all jobsite and office meetings related to assigned projects.
•All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
•Minimum 3 years commercial experience in commercial piping.
•Prior shop experience a plus.
•Reliable, dependable, and displays good character.
Job Skills:
•Ability to read blueprints.
•Knowledge of general piping installation.
•Ability to fabricate offsets.
•Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
•Able to do basic take-offs.
•Able to install equipment.
•Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
•Good communication skills.
Education:
•High School or GED Equivalent.
•Journeyman License-preferred, but not required.
•Additional trade licenses and certifications acquired and maintained.
Physical Requirements:
•Eyesight correctable to 20/50
•Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy labor tasks.
•Able to stand for long periods of time.
•Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
•Lift items weighing up to 60 lbs.
•Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
•Must be able to work often at tall heights, from ladders, and lifts.
Special Requirements:
•Must provide own basic hand tools.
•Able to operate heavy machinery-preferred but not required.
•OSHA 10 certified- preferred but not required.
