Pipe/Cylinder Shop Assistant

Position Summary

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. SFI is seeking a Cylinder Shop Assistant to perform a variety of duties in our cylinder/pipe department.

- Operate cylinder shot blast.

- Produce a smooth finish using surface grinders on all company products as directed.

- Operate flux core welder machine.

- Ensure pipe is marked properly according to company procedures.

- Willing to perform other tasks throughout the shop as assigned by the supervisor.

- Strong work ethical self-starter who will take ownership of assigned duties.

- Forklift operator skills.

- A strong, team first attitude.

- Punctual, and reliable.

- Willingness to learn and acquire other skills as necessary.

Physical Requirements

- Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements.

- Able to lift 50 pounds.

- Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.

- Working in temperature zones that may include hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present.
