Job Summary:
Payroll Technicians monitor, review and enter the timesheets received from the field employees for the piecework completed as well as some hourly work performed. Validate the imports against the employees’ timesheets and address any discrepancies with the Managers. Calculate and pay special additional compensations. Performs functions with confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Functions:
Payroll Data Entry position with related responsibilities. Dealing with our Canadian (outside of Quebec) and American employees and Managers. Working as part of a payroll team of six employees working from Montreal, Quebec.
General Responsibilities:
•Monitor, prepare, review, compile and enter all payroll related documents (data entry) using an in-house payroll system.
•Calculate and pay additional compensations.
•Work with Excel using the Pivot Table and VLookup functions.
•Verify their own work and participate in a peer review process.
•Communicate with the employees and managers to obtain additional information and/or authorizations (mostly by e-mail).
•Run, compile, and update weekly reports.
•Perform clerical duties such as, but not limited to, archiving, filing, scanning, photocopying, shredding, etc.
Education/experience:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be:
•High school diploma (minimum).
•2 years of experience in payroll or a related field.
•Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures.
•Punctual, flexible and reliable.
•Experience working with Excel (intermediate level).
Position will be reporting to our Head Office in Montreal, Quebec, located downtown, walking distance from McGill and/or Peel metro stations.
•Working hours per week 37.50 hours: must be available to work additional hours as required to meet the strict payroll deadlines.
•English written and spoken (compulsory); French spoken.
•Has access to confidential client information and employee files.
•Working in a team of 6 employees in an office environment.
•At the time of the publication of this job offer, working from home is a possibility. However, this is subject to change at any time. Working from home could be effective once the three-month (approximately) training period is completed and all working logistics have been met
•Use of a computer, including manual data input, reading and evaluating output on-screen and in printouts.
