Job Title: Pattern Shop Assistant/Apprentice
Operate hand power tools, wood working equipment, work with cast resins, and limited metal machining.
Assist/Train under Pattern Shop Journeyman and Pattern Shop Machining Engineer on maintaining, repairing, and creating new tooling and molds.
- Safely and correctly operate wood working equipment, hand power tools, and metal machining centers.
- Read and understand blueprints and technical documents
- Accurately use measurement tools; Calipers and Micrometers
- Follow written and verbal instructions. This position requires adaptability
- Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned by Engineering or Journeyman.
High school degree or GED is required; must have basic hand tool experience and basic wood shop knowledge (table saws, drills, routers). Machining experience lathes and mills highly preferred but not required.
Must be able to learn and adapt to new challenges and technology. Looking for a candidate to learn and eventually replace the Journeyman when he retires.
Exposed to heat, dust, fumes and noise of foundry floor. Must be able to bend, reach, lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
