Parts Runner

Job Summary:

Assist in the plant by performing such duties as grinding, moving material, housekeeping, holding parts for fitters, tack welding, etc.

Essential Job Functions

1. Operate power hand grinder to remove rough corners and edges on steel beams, plates, angles, etc.

2. Assist crane operators in moving material in the yard.

3. Pick up scrap metal and perform general housekeeping (sweeping and etc).

4. Run magnetic base portable drills.

5. Assist in operating reamers (hand power tools).

6. Scrape or chisel spatter off parts.

7. Tack-weld after passing tack-weld qualifications.

8. Use heating torch for preheat for welder or straightening (after instructed).

9. Hold parts for fitter.

10. Assist in cambering.

11. Assemble bolted connections.

12. Operate hand held impact wrench.

13. Brush off at blast machine.

14. Solvent clean grease from material before painting (MSDS and instruction required).

15. Perform other duties as required by management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS

Must be able to read tape measure to 1/16” increments. Must be able to read numbers, letters, and a dial face clock. Must be able to speak and understand enough English to follow basic instructions. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs over shoulder height.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 48 per week
