Position: Paint System Technician/Leadman - 1st Shift (6:00 am - 4:30 pm M-Th) OT on Fridays as needed

Reporting To: Paint Plant Manager

Division: NPF-Finishing

Location: Casselton, ND

Pay: $27 - $30/HR

Outline of the role

The primary function of the Paint System Technician is to ensure that all equipment and process’ are maintained and performing at an optimum level while meeting and/or exceeding our customers’ quality and delivery expectations.

Key tasks and responsibilities

•

Manage and/or perform color changes

•

Monitor line flow and flex staffing as required

•

Coordinate product entering and exiting the system to maintain daily schedules

•

Monitor paint equipment to ensure proper settings and adjustments are being achieved and maintained

•

Perform daily maintenance routines on all powder coat line equipment

•

Daily/Weekly/Monthly required testing on all equipment

•

Use proper paint application procedures

•

Inspect work in progress for quality problems, such as runs and missed areas

•

Clean/Maintain paint booths. Including robots, lights and required filter changes

•

Perform quality checks including visual and electronic mill testing

•

Assist in keeping all paint areas clean and organized

•

Ensure that all required SAP transactions are being performed

•

Maintain powder levels and storage areas

•

All other duties as assigned

2-5 years of manufacturing or paint line experience

•

Perform painting functions to our standards

Basic computer skills

Operate equipment in a safe manner following appropriate regulations, policies, and procedures

Ability to be a part of and help direct an effective team

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Environment is not fully climate controlled.
