Morskate Manufacturing is actively recruiting a motivated Full-Time Overhead Crane Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic team of professionals. Reporting to the Production Manager/ Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating 20 Ton & 30 Ton Overhead Cranes moving and organizing structural steel to supply the shop welding crews. · Unload material from trucks in a safe and timely manner using overhead crane and other mechanical aids
-Move material as needed to shop as per current projects
· Clearly communicate and work collaboratively with equipment operators cutting parts, fitters requiring material, as well as the yard team of forklift operators receiving the finished product from the shop
· Maintain good housekeeping in shop by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic, etc. and placing material accordingly
· Maintain crane equipment by performing pre-use inspections and troubleshoot issues
· Safe operation of overhead crane and mobile equipment for material movement
· Trained and competent in Overhead Crane & forklift operation
· Ability to assess weights, judge distances and heights
· Must have good time management, organization and people skills
· Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
· Able to work independently or as part of a team
· Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly
· Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures and practices
