SUMMARY:
Coordinates corporate citizenship, public affairs, and philanthropic programs for the company. Administers corporate contributions, corporate citizenship programs, and PNM Resources Foundation grants, reviews and budgets. Administers corporate community involvement programs and initiatives with state and local media efforts, government relations strategy, public policy position statements, and programs. Coordinates, distributes, and communicates PNMR Foundation grants and corporate contributions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with other members of public policy team to meet goals.
Administers and processes electric funds transfers, payments and communications to the more than 300 organizations supported by PNM and the PNM Resources Foundation
Manages the multiple databases need to track and report all payments, sponsorships, donations, grants, employee funding and programs
Participates in external outreach events and sponsorship events as a representative of PNMR and the Foundation.
Leads the Volunteer Excellence Awards event internally and coordinates with external nonprofits and retirees
Support of governmental affairs and public affairs internal and external outreach efforts, including evenings and weekends.
Works closely with subsidiary (PNM statewide and TNMP) community involvement programs to administer programs.
Collaborates with corporate communications and marketing to effectively and proactively implement programs.
Creates and manages meeting calendar for board of trustees and screening committee meetings.
Publishes minutes of board of trustees and screening committee meetings
Maintains records of board of trustees and screening committee meetings
Prepares screening committee application packets and compiles screening committee application scores
Coordinates check generation and external distribution with internal clients and maintains contact with funded organizations.
Based on screening committee recommendations, determines grants to be awarded with the executive director.
Prepares reports and social media posts summarizing outcomes of funded programs.
Maintains foundation website (working within communications/IT appropriate structure)
Liaisons with communications for development of internal and external messages
COMPETENCIES:
Experience in the grant making policy and processes in a corporation or foundation.
Experience serving on non-profit boards.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferred plus two to four years of equivalent experience.
Master's degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the company's driving record requirements.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

In support of corporate giving programs and volunteerism projects, follows implementation plans and adjusts as appropriate.
In support of foundation director and the screening committees: trains screening committees on grant criteria and reporting requirements; develops grant application processes, associated tools, award materials, and printed materials; prescreens all grant applications; develops screening and evaluation guidelines for screening committees; and develops evaluation measures for funded programs.
Maintains knowledge of grant making best practices and shares with grantee base.
DECISION MAKING:
Administers multimillion-dollar corporate citizenship budgets. Prioritizes work.
SCOPE AND IMPACT:
Administers $23 million foundation endowment and the distribution of approximately $2 million in foundation grants annually. Acts as support staff for community relations; annual budget of approximately $700,000. Administers annual distribution of approximately $2 million in corporate contributions.
