Summary
As an Ore Control Technician, you will be an integral part of ensuring the quality and efficiency of ore extraction processes, often in challenging outdoor conditions. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing ore grade performance through extended periods of outdoor work and physically demanding tasks. Responsibilities
•Sample blast holes using proper methodologies and attentiveness to sample integrity.
•Work closely with the laboratory department to facilitate sample drop-offs and maintain proper documentation of samples submitted.
•Uploading lab assay results into a blasthole database.
•Deploy and detect blast movement monitors.
•Identify oxidized material in the field and perform oxide mapping.
•Take piezometer readings.
•Communicate with multiple departments including Mine Operations, Survey, and Drill and Blast, and provide additional support to the Ore Control and Geology staff as needed.
•Actively supporting and participating in the site safety and health initiatives.
•Performs any other responsibilities related to the Technician role as required or as assigned by the department head.
Education & Experience
•A technical certification or relevant vocational training in mining-related fields is a plus.
•Must be physically fit with ability to lift 50 pounds.
•Proficiency with database and geology software, such as SQL, acQuire or Leapfrog, would be an asset.
•Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.

•Effective verbal communication skills with proven ability to learn quickly.
•Maintain a professional presence and cooperate with multiple departments.
•Ability to follow directions with integrity to perform the job correctly with minimal to no supervision.
•This position requires a high degree of situational awareness and strong adherence to safety behaviors. Most job duties will be outside of a vehicle in close proximity to heavy equipment, highwalls, and potentially open voids in the bench floor. A successful candidate must demonstrate safety as a priority.
•Must be willing to work in physically challenging situations with diverse weather conditions (i.e. wind and cold), rugged terrain, heavy equipment operating nearby.
•Be able to operate a 4-wheel drive truck in rugged terrain and safely share the road with heavy equipment.
•Competence using Windows operating system and programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be capable of quickly learning new software.
•Perform job responsibilities with integrity under minimal to no supervision.
•Be familiar with and comply with the Company's health, safety, and environmental policies.
•Valid Canadian Driver’s License
Working Conditions
•The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
•Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 14x14 schedule, 12 hours per day. Consideration will be given to a 7x7 schedule.
•Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
•Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
•Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
•Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Prince George, Fort St. James, Mackenzie & Smithers
