About This Job

Essential Functions of the Job: Reporting to the Terminal Manager this position is responsible for loading all customer trucks with bulk cement and receiving transfer loads. Responsibilities include minor maintenance, zone and pre-shift checklists, service and clean-up as needed as well as communicating with journeyman maintenance mechanic and management at the terminal in a timely manner on issues delaying timely loading of trucks. Essential Functions:

•

The ability to safely and efficiently load bulk trucks

•

Safely operate equipment to move, load and unload rail cars

•

Stand for long periods of time and climb flights of stairs

•

Good people skills and must be able to multi-task

•

Be able to operate a forklift and front-end loader

•

Understand and demonstrate basic computer skills

•

Understand and demonstrate use of the load out and reclaim system

•

Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping duties

•

Proactive approach to safety

•

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies and procedures. Report any unsafe condition, accidents or incidents to supervisor immediately.

•

Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.

•

Work with plant management to identify problems and potential problems that need to be addressed.

•

Perform plant inspections and complete inspection documentation.

•

May be required to work some Saturdays.

•

Regular and on-time attendance.

•

Perform other duties and assignments as assigned or required

•

Must be able to pass TSA security requirements to obtain TWIC

•

Qualifications Required for the Job:

•

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

•

Experience in resolving problems and dealing with difficult situations.

•

Ability to understand oral and written instructions relating to maintenance and products

•

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

•

Demonstrated ability to be self directed, with minimal supervision.

•

Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

•

Minimum of two years of operating experience

•

Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts

•

General Maintenance skills/knowledge a plus

•

Forklift and Front-End loader experience.

•

Ability to lift 50 lbs
