The purpose of this position is to maintain the Omega Partners Joliet Operations duties at the Terminal including railcar, truck, & barge unloading, plant troubleshooting, product formulation blending and Process Control computer control room operations. This position also performs normal lab quality assurance testing for product shipments, receipts, and blending. In addition, performs minor maintenance repair of process equipment.
- Performs railroading operations of spotting, heating, sampling, and pumping incoming rail cars. Operates the Shuttlewagon rail spotting vehicle.
- Performs the duties of shore person during the unloading of barges as required by US Coast Guard regulations.
- Perform custom blending activities.
- Performs control room operations including alarm acknowledgment and troubleshooting. Includes ability to understand programming logic. Interfaces with the Allen Bradley Process Control computer, utilizes a variety of software systems including OSCAR and other databases.
- Performs data entry into OSCAR for transfers, blends and all other product receipts.
- Interacts with Process Control computer system to facilitate the manufacture of various blended products.
- Performs maintenance tasks such as valve and solenoid changing, issues safe work permits (exceptions are vessel entry and hot work in process areas), prepares equipment for maintenance work (e.g. line openings), and performs preventative maintenance items.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of plant infrastructure including plant utility, fire protection, personnel protection, and emergency warning systems.
- Inspects, documents, and maintains OTJ RCRA satellite storage areas. Involved with the generation, labeling, and containerizing of hazardous wastes for placement within accumulation and storage areas, inspection of such areas and notification of supervision of any leaks, spills, or losses.
- Follow all operating discipline by being accountable for following procedures and working safely at all times.
- Provide accurate and complete data for all records and documentation required within specific job functions.
- Work with other shift teams to provide timely completion of prioritized job task in a safe and efficient manner.

- Familiar with Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) and Lotus Notes.
- Must be able to operate industrial equipment, Shuttlewagon, Forklifts and Ottawa.
- Rotating 12-hour shift work. Including nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime is required for this position.
- Position requires outdoor work for extended periods of time during inclement weather.
- Position requires sitting and working with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be physically fit to perform strenuous duties, including lifting and working in prone positions.
- Must be medically approved to wear a respirator and pass a breathing fit test.
