What’s The Role
Shell is seeking an Operations Performance Analyst Lead (also known internally as Operations Analyst Lead) to join its team at the Scotford Refinery.
The Operations Performance Analyst Lead’s primary responsibility is to provide analytical support for the Assets and Production Support organizations (Operations Central Services and Operations Turnaround). This includes monitoring and tracking critical business functions such as budget, overtime control, maintenance execution efficiency, and key performance indicators that drive improvements in overall business results.
As a key enabler in interpreting site-wide data at Scotford, the Operations Performance Analyst Lead also supports the Site Leadership Team by consolidating data from multiple sources, disciplines, and departments to identify where business targets are being met and where corrective actions are needed. This individual will communicate insights to stakeholders as part of Scotford’s continuous improvement journey, ensuring alignment with the site’s business objectives. Additionally, the role is responsible for leading a team of site time focal points.
In addition, this role currently offers a hybrid schedule, allowing you to work remotely 2 days per week and on-site at the Shell Scotford Refinery for the remaining 3 days.
Accountabilities:
- Lead a site team of 3 responsible for managing hourly time (site time focal) for pay and time deliverables
- Deliver analysis for Site and Production to provide the organization assurance on key performance metrics
- Prepare and deliver monthly reports on site performance (MBR and scorecards), including production and routine maintenance overtime analysis
- Generate monthly site reports for HR on overtime
- Transform data into actionable insights using Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Support HR employee and industrial relations on data analysis
- Provide oversight and analytics on data within SchedulePro
- Perform analytics on the application of the Hourly Pay Practice (HPP), CBA and scheduling practices
- Communicate insights to leaders to support consistent application and performance improvements
- Support, train, and coach site users to ensure effective use of SchedulePro
- Lead the department as the Document Control Focal supporting the application of the Document Control process
- Provide time entry assurance and back-up support for the Production Time Focals on payroll entry
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Must have bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a complex organization
- Deep understanding of operations or advanced data analysis skills is required
- Proficient at using analytical and communication software such as Workday Excel, Power Bi, PowerPoint and SchedulePro
- Experience working in the energy sector and/or in Downstream is a plus
- Experience leading teams, either directly or indirectly, is a plus
