Job Description
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee and manage mining operations, from the optimal extraction of ore to its delivery to storage or processing facilities.
You will ensure that these activities are carried out under the best safety, quality, and cost conditions, in compliance with the company’s mining policy.
You will be accountable for the technical and financial performance of your scope and for ensuring cohesion among the various operational teams (short-term geology, mining operations, mobile equipment maintenance).
You will develop a global and sustainable vision of site operations, integrating increasing environmental requirements and maintaining continuous dialogue with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Achieve and maintain the “zero accident” objective in your sector.
- Ensure production quality and quantity in line with site objectives.
- Optimize ore production and delivery under the best safety, quality, cost, and time conditions.
- Monitor and optimize the operating costs of mining activities.
- Define and track reliable short-, medium- and long-term mine plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and environmental commitments.
- Manage and develop teams while fostering performance and engagement.
- Promote social dialogue and team cohesion.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures on safety, environment, labor law, and budgetary control.
- Engineering degree (Mines, ENSG, or equivalent) with at least 10–15 years’ experience in mining operations, including proven experience in mine site management.
- Strong knowledge of mining techniques and applicable regulations (labor, environment, contracts).
- Good command of technical English.
- Experienced leader with strong managerial skills, comfortable with social dialogue and negotiations.
- Courageous decision-maker, agile, and capable of motivating teams while providing meaning and direction.
- Your rigor, sense of responsibility, and focus on operational excellence will be key to success in this role.
