Hemco Gage is a trusted manufacturer of precision gages since 1946. Our product line includes thread, cylindrical, master, and specialty gages, along with plugs, rings, pins, and custom fixtures. We also provide comprehensive gage calibration services to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Position Summary

We are adding to our team the role of the Operations Manager. This position will oversee all aspects of day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, and achievement of operational performance targets this role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational execution with strategic improvement initiatives to support company growth.

Key Responsibilities


Production Management:

· Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules to meet customer requirements.

· Ensure optimal utilization of equipment, materials, and labor resources.

· Resolve production delays and bottlenecks while maintaining on-time delivery.


Quality Assurance & Compliance:

· Ensure compliance with applicable standards through collaboration with quality teams.

· Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.

· Implement process controls and performance metrics to monitor adherence to specifications.

· Partner with quality and implement and ensure compliance with sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.


Operational Excellence & Compliance:

· Oversee operational systems and ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer-specific requirements.

· Implement and monitor process controls to maintain performance standards and meet production or service specifications.

· Lead cross-functional teams in identifying operational inefficiencies, conducting root-cause analysis, and driving corrective actions to improve overall workflow and output quality.


Financial Performance:

· Monitor and manage departmental budgets, costs, and productivity metrics.

· Drive efficiency initiatives to improve margins and reduce waste.

· Support company profitability goals through disciplined operational controls.


Continuous Improvement:


· Champion process improvement methodologies.

· Establish performance metrics (KPIs) and accountability systems across departments.

· Foster a culture of problem-solving, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.


Leadership & Team Development:

· Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members across production and operations.

· Promote a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.

· Build team member engagement through communication, recognition, and professional growth opportunities.


Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred). - Minimum 5+ years of operations or production management experience in manufacturing, preferably precision machining or related industries.

- Knowledge of quality management systems and certifications.

- Demonstrated success in managing budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.

- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
