Kidd Operations is seeking a highly skilled Operations Engineering Specialist to optimize daily operations, manage contractors, oversee procurement activities, and support budgeting for both operational and capital expenditures. This role requires a deep technical background, effective contractor and vendor management, and a solid understanding of procurement and financial management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support & Optimization
•Oversee data collection and analysis to enhance equipment performance, system reliability, and cost efficiency
•Identify and implement process improvements to optimize operations and reduce downtime
Contractor Management
•Coordinate and oversee contractor activities, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards
•Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with safety regulations, contract terms, and operational requirements
•Conduct regular performance assessments and address any inefficiencies to maintain alignment with operational goals
Procurement & Vendor Management
•Facilitate or assist with procurement activities, such as identifying sources for materials, equipment, and services needed for various operations and projects
•Work closely with the procurement team to secure competitive bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services
•Build and sustain constructive partnerships with vendors to maximize value in both cost and quality
Budgeting & Financial Management
•Develop, manage, and track operational and capital expenditure budgets
•Monitor financial performance to ensure expenditures remain within approved budgets
•Assist in short-term and long-term financial planning for operational and engineering projects
•Provide regular budget updates, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions
•Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting
•Ensure timely and accurate processing of accruals for both operational and capital expenditures
Qualifications & Experience:
•Operations Engineering or similar background in a mining environment
•Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or similar from an accredited university
•Underground Hard Rock Mining and Supervisor Common Core certifications are both considered an asset
•High-level interpersonal skills and effective communication•Highly effective organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts or Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
