Reporting to CVE NA’s Operations Manager, and with the support of the CVE, NA Technical Team, the Operations Engineer will assist in coordinating, monitoring, and analyzing all operations and maintenance (O&M) of CVE, NA’s ground mounted solar power generation assets which average 5 megawatts in size. This role will ensure that solar and battery storage assets are maintained in a safe, sustainable, and optimized manner.
Duties and responsibilities notably include but are not limited to:
· Perform all daily monitoring and supervision of performance of the solar and storage assets
· Maximize asset availability and ensure reliable communication
· Receive and respond to system alarms, troubleshoot and dispatch support personnel as required
· Enter and track ticketing for system downtime, underperformance, and losses.
· Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual internal and external reporting of operational performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Ensure quality and reliability of data acquisition
· Supervise, schedule and manage contractors in charge of the maintenance for PV systems and PV + storage systems
· Identify, consult, and deploy a strong network of maintenance providers
· Optimize preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost savings
· Confirm services rendered by all contractors, utilities, and other external service providers comply with all contractual obligations
· Administer equipment warranties, open claims and RMAs when necessary.
· Provide support to CVE Construction and Engineering Teams during start-up and commissioning services
· Onboard new assets to CVE monitoring platform
· Lead contractors in testing and troubleshooting of communications and data acquisition systems before final hand-over
· Validate that all commissioning procedures and activities are followed and completed
· Provide technical training to AHJ (police, fire department) as needed
· Support CVE NA’s Engineering team with repowering efforts on aging assets.
Asset Management · Track and optimize the Asset Operations Budget
· Manage external and intercompany contracts and their associated commitments
· Represent the company with landowners, investors, and local authorities (AHJs), including utility dispatch, police and fire departments, and regulatory agencies
· Monitor and control access to all operating assets
· Ensure compliance with all NEC, OSHA, UL, IEEE, and other industry standards
· Enforce and promote CVE’s Health and Safety policies
· Enforce and update cyber security standards and procedures on all control and monitoring systems
· Ensure the full deployment of ISO 9001 and 14001 certification processes
· A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience
· Experience with PowerBI, or similar data visualization software, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
· A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for at least two years
· Ability to travel to project sites and work in the field, some overnight travel to be expected (approximately 10-20%)

· Proficiency programming in various languages including Python, Java, C++
· PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting and programming experience
· Working knowledge of network/communication technology and any related certifications (CCNA or similar equivalent)
