The Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and training OSP Drop Technicians and vendors involved in the placement of underground, aerial, and hybrid drops. This includes working with fiber optic cables, fiber optic connectors, taps, poles, and other infrastructure that supports Beacon’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services. This includes supervising both in-house employees and vendors.

Fiber Optic and Cabling Knowledge – Expertise in fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cabling.
Equipment Proficiency – Experience with splicing equipment, testers, light meters, and fiber optic connectors.
Inventory & Dispatch Management – Tracking materials and scheduling drop deployments efficiently.
Team Supervision & Training – Leading and mentoring OSP Drop Technicians and vendors.
Communication & Coordination – Strong skills in relaying technical information and coordinating teams.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Handling field issues and emergency repairs effectively.
Safety – Understanding of basic OSHA standards and the need for performing duties safely.
The job operates in a professional office environment and in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing
cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
