We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is not afraid of a challenge to join our Operational Excellence team. This entry level position will assist in various projects aimed at improving our overall operational performance as well as assist with administration, presentation creation, and metric reporting for various departments. Audits on Kaizens and Action Item Follow-Up: Assist with Kaizen events and conduct audits on their follow up activities / action items to ensure completion. Help to audit and sustain existing continuous improvement initiatives.
Run 5S Meetings: Help to lead and organize 5S events to improve various areas of the plant
Dploy Metrics: Assist in monthly updating of plant wide Dploy metrics
Visual Management : Help to maintain and update plant visual management boards as required
Make PowerPoint Presentations: Assist in creating various monthly presentations
Scheduling and Meeting Management: Assist in scheduling follow-up meetings, running daily meetings, scheduling monthly management reviews with managers and improving meeting trackers/metrics. Set meeting agendas and capture meeting minutes for managers.
Cost Savings Projects: Help to accurately track the savings dollars for implemented cost savings projects and identify new opportunities for improvement by participating in Gemba walks and other activities.
Data Collection and Analysis: Help with data collection and analysis for continuous improvement projects.
Project Charters and Action Item Tracker: Help in updating and maintaining the A3/RCA tracker as well as creating project charters for upcoming process improvement events
Root Cause Analysis: Assist with tracking and updating corrective and preventive actions resulting from RCAs. Be the voice of continuous improvement during these meetings whenever possible.
Special Task Assistance: Assist in project management and producing project documentation. Assist with special tasks and projects as needed.
- AS or BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management (or related field), or relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn new skills and educate others
- Familiarity with lean and six sigma methodologies with ability to progress to certification
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, stand on your feet for up to 8 hours and lift 50 or more pounds as required
