Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as an Onshore Wind Engineering Technician located in Schenectady, NY. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to onshore wind operations and maintenance, ensuring the performance and reliability of wind turbines, conducting inspections, and assisting with troubleshooting and repair activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
•Be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and manual tools/equipment.
•Conduct periodic calibrations according to manufacturer specifications and internal standards.
•Diagnose faults in torque tools and carry out repairs or forward them to specialized service centers.
•Manage the inventory of torque tools (check-in, check-out, usage, maintenance, and disposal).
•Track the life cycle of equipment and issue performance and condition reports.
•Ensure proper storage and readiness of all tools in compliance with safety and operational standards.
•Test torque tools and validate accuracy before dispatching them to field teams.
•Assist in training operators on the safe and correct use of torque equipment
•Maintain accurate records of inspections, calibrations, and maintenance (manual or via CMMS system).
•Issue calibration certificates, inspection reports, and technical assessments as required by audits or quality standards.
•Support Manufacturing Engineers in their activities related to the assembly process.
Qualifications/Requirements:
•Currently pursuing a degree in a technical program or relevant apprenticeship
Desired Characteristics:
•Manufacturing Experience
•Strong grasp of physics, mathematics, hydraulics, computer & programming skills, six sigma methodologies, electrical & mechanical diagnostic techniques, safety, and environmental concerns.
•Proficiency in the use of computer systems and current office suite programs i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as required.
