They keep drilling teams informed with real-time geological insights—collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data that can make or break an operation. This role is all about being at the center of discovery, bridging the gap between the drill floor and the geologists back at the office.
You’ll be the person turning raw cuttings and gas readings into meaningful insights, helping our teams make safe, efficient, and informed drilling decisions.
- Monitor drilling parameters and geological data in real time
- Collect, analyze, and describe drill cuttings
- Operate and maintain gas extraction and chromatography equipment
- Generate comprehensive drilling and mud logs
- Alert the team to significant changes in mud or cuttings that could affect safety or efficiency
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to guide decisions
- Ensure sample integrity and adherence to safety and environmental standards
- You’ve got a degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- You’ve worked in mud logging, gas analysis, or drilling operations
- You’re detail-oriented and accurate, even under pressure
- You’re comfortable with geological software and data analysis tools
- You have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and U.S. work authorization
- You’re a clear communicator who thrives in remote, field-based environments
- The chance to be pivotal in real-time decision making
- Work in diverse and dynamic field environments
- Direct collaboration with geologists and drilling teams
- A culture that values precision, teamwork, and safety
- Opportunities to grow within Impac Exploration Services
- Long hours in sometimes remote or challenging environments
- Physical stamina to work on active drilling sites
- Patience and focus when the data gets complex
- The ability to stay calm when the pressure is high
But you’ll also play a critical part in powering exploration, ensuring safety, and shaping outcomes that matter in the field.
