- Tasks
- Check alignment specifications on the drilling machines
- Check for wear and tear to detect and replace faulty parts of the drill sooner
- Ensure all drill bits, end bills, precision cutters and lathe tools are kept sharp
- Ensure all the holes, filters and seals in the machine are cleaned
- Keep records of maintenance on parts such as fluids, electrical systems and tracks
- Manipulate sections of pipes or drill stems at rig floor during drilling and during removal and replacement of pipes, drill stems and drill bits
- Write daily basic progress reports
- Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials
- Clean up rig areas
- Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and service equipment
- Drive trucks to transport materials and well service equipment
- Support for newcomers and refugees
- Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
- Does not require Canadian work experience
- Support for Indigenous people
- Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
