Senior Financial Analyst
Please Note: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in-office at either our Jupiter, FL or Houston, TX location. Candidates must reside within 45 minutes of one of these offices. Applicants not meeting this requirement will not be considered.
About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst will provide critical financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic recommendations to support the company’s renewable energy projects and investments. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring that the organization remains financially sound. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with management, accounting, and other business units to analyze and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to drive and optimize business performance. The role is responsible for the maintenance and optimization of the budgeting/reporting application.
What You’ll Do
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
•Perform in-depth financial analysis on the company's performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
•Analyze financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
•Generate accurate and insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior leadership.
•Identify areas of cost savings and revenue growth opportunities.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
•Lead the development of budgets and forecasts, including cash flow modeling.
•Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results and provide insights for corrective action.
•Collaborate with business units to gather data and ensure financial plans align with strategic goals.
•Evaluate financial viability and risk factors of various renewable energy investments and projects.
Financial Modelling:
•Build and maintain financial models to support business decision-making.
•Develop scenario analysis to assess potential financial outcomes and inform business strategies.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
•Track and analyze the financial performance (KPIs) of ongoing renewable energy projects.
•Create and present detailed financial reports to senior management, investors, and stakeholders, including project progress, cost overruns, and revenue generation.
•Recommend adjustments to improve financial performance or identify new opportunities for optimization.
Cost Management & Risk Assessment:
•Evaluate project cost structures, identifying areas where cost savings can be achieved without compromising quality or timelines.
•Perform risk assessments to understand the financial impact of potential challenges, including supply chain disruptions, interest rate fluctuations, or technological changes in renewable energy.
Stakeholder Communication:
•Provide financial guidance and support to department heads and senior management.
•Present financial analysis and results to non-financial stakeholders clearly and effectively.
•Prepare presentations for senior management and external investors to report on the performance and financial outlook of renewable energy projects.
Ad-Hoc Financial Projects:
•Assist with special projects such as financial due diligence, business case evaluations, and strategic initiatives.
•Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, providing financial analysis and risk assessment.
Process Improvement:
•Recommend improvements to financial processes, tools, and systems to increase efficiency.
•Work closely with accounting and IT departments to implement system upgrades and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
Regulatory & Policy Analysis:
•Stay informed on government policies, tax incentives, and subsidies related to renewable energy (e.g., PTC, ITC, carbon credits) and their impact on financial modeling.
•Assess the financial implications of changes in renewable energy laws, regulations, and global energy policies.
Qualifications / Requirements
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required). A Master’s degree or CPA, CFA, MBA, or similar designation is a plus.
•Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or financial planning, with at least 2 years in the renewable energy sector (a plus).
Skills:
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, financial modeling, data analysis).
•Experience with financial software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar).
•Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
•Knowledge of financial planning and analysis techniques, forecasting methods, and budgeting.
•Ability to perform financial due diligence, risk analysis, and sensitivity analysis for renewable energy investments.
•Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders at all levels.
•The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
This is an administrative position. The role requires working on a computer, attending virtual and in-person meetings, and engaging with various business units in a professional office environment.
