About the Role:
Join our dynamic Energy Conservation (EC) Process & Program Strategies team as a Senior Analyst. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure across the company, particularly in the forward-thinking areas of energy conservation and energy transition. Previous role holders have advanced to positions in program delivery, design, market research, and marketing. Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct secondary research and provide analysis to support the design of new energy conservation programs and meet stakeholder needs, under the guidance of the Supervisor.
•Gather secondary research from diverse sources, including direct contact with employees of other utilities, channel partners, and research/data suppliers, while continuously monitoring relevant market trends.
•Compile jurisdictional scans, industry, and utility profiles, and maintain contacts at other utilities for information sharing.
•Perform data entry and analysis to support research needs and requests.
•Manage simple research and consulting projects conducted by third-party vendors.
•Assist in strategic projects, such as the annual Business Planning cycle, developing plans for each energy conservation program and sector.
Qualifications:
•1-2 years of relevant experience; new graduates with relevant co-op experience are welcome.
•Strong writing skills with the ability to synthesize insights from various sources into a coherent narrative.
•Proven project management skills and understanding of the research process, from proposal to final reporting.
•Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to extract insights and provide recommendations.
•Creative data visualization and reporting skills to develop reports that tell a clear story and make insights actionable.
•Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
•Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
•Knowledge of the energy industry.
•Experience in a supporting role with the ability to influence without authority.
•Market research training.
Working Conditions:
•Standard office environment with occasional travel offsite for meetings, approximately 1-2 times a year, with carpooling options available.
