Offshore Wind NACE Level 2 Coatings Inspector
Location: Offshore – North East Coast, USA
Eligibility: US Citizen or valid US Work Visa holder
The Offshore Wind NACE Level 2 Coatings Inspector will oversee inspection, verification, and documentation of protective coating work on offshore wind farm structures, including transition pieces, monopiles, towers, and substations. Working to NORSOK and ISO 12944 standards, the inspector ensures all surface preparation and coating applications meet stringent offshore durability and safety requirements.
- Conduct inspections in line with NORSOK M-501 and project specifications for offshore wind structures.
- Verify surface preparation, coating application, environmental conditions, and curing processes.
- Measure coating thickness, adhesion, and overall application quality.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, including daily reports, photographs, and non-conformance reports.
- Monitor and record environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, dew point) during coating activities.
- Collaborate with construction, quality, and HSE teams to ensure full compliance with contract and safety requirements.
- Support resolution of punch list items and assist in final acceptance inspections.
- Participate in offshore safety meetings, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work systems.
- NACE Coatings Inspector Level 2 (minimum).
- Full GWO Basic Safety Training Package (Working at Height, Sea Survival, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling).
- Offshore medical clearance (OGUK or equivalent).
- HUET/BOSIET or equivalent sea survival training (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience inspecting coatings in offshore wind, marine, or oil & gas projects.
- Familiarity with NORSOK M-501, SSPC/NACE standards, and ISO 12944 requirements.
- US Citizen or valid US Work Visa holder.
- Excellent understanding of protective coatings for marine and offshore environments.
- Strong knowledge of inspection tools and test methods.
- Ability to interpret coating specifications and technical drawings.
- High attention to detail and precision in documentation.
- Effective communicator with strong team collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working at height and in offshore weather conditions.
- Offshore rotational pattern (e.g., 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off).
- 12-hour shifts in variable offshore weather conditions.
- PPE, inspection instruments, and safety equipment provided.
