Under the general direction of the Wellness Lead, the Occupational Therapist provides professional advice in a team-based
environment on matters including case management, rehabilitation, ergonomics, injury and illness prevention and investigation,
accommodation, and return to work activities. Please note this is a temporary position with a duration of 18-24 months.
- Provide consultation for the case management of claims related to rehabilitation, musculoskeletal injuries, and ergonomics;
- Evaluate medical information from various sources to provide evidence-based recommendations for workplace
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations to improve ergonomics;
- Conduct and/or coordinate Job Demands Analysis to establish bona fide job requirements and facilitate safe return-to-work
- Conduct Job Hazard Assessments and provide respective recommendations to facilitate safer work;
- Act as a liaison to connect employees and line management with injury prevention and early intervention resources;
- Support ergonomic and injury prevention programs;
- Perform timely reporting, and communication with internal and external stakeholders, as required;
- Develop and deliver health education presentations and other guidance resources to increase overall awareness occupational
- Collaborate with the occupational health and disability management teams to develop and implement continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a recognized university;
- Must be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba;
- Minimum of five years' experience in occupational therapy, experience with ergonomics considered an asset;
- Possess a valid driver's license in the province of Manitoba;
- Knowledge of related legislation and regulations, including the Workplace Safety and Health Act, the Human Rights Code, the
