Summary
This job posting is for an Electrical / I&C Engineer within Plant Engineering Design Support – Electrical and I&C team at the Engineer III or Senior Engineer level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. The candidate will support the Oconee Nuclear Station, located in Seneca, South Carolina, which is within the Duke Energy Nuclear Fleet.
The Oconee Design Support, Electrical and I&C team manages the development, design, and implementation of limited scope plant modifications to Oconee Nuclear Station. The team also supports operations and maintenance questions and troubleshooting on electrical and I&C component issues. The team may lead or support the site response to external and internal inspections and audits.* For plant modifications, the individual will be responsible for developing the scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for plant modifications installed in the plant. Ongoing support of assigned engineering changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities is required.Nuclear Engineer III is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
Senior Nuclear Engineer is the career/senior level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in the use of concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions, and take actions to resolve. Senior Engineer represents a level at which career may stabilize for many years.
Responsibilities* Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity.Basic/Required Qualifications* Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Additional Preferred Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.

Working Conditions* Typical office environment with flexibility to support plant operations. Must be able to work safely in an industrial environment.
