The Network Engineer II is responsible for the daily administration, support, and maintenance of the corporate network infrastructure. This includes hardware deployment, integration, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and ensuring system security and compliance. The role also involves managing small to mid-sized projects, often with cross-functional impact.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Infrastructure Support: Maintain and monitor network systems, ensuring stability, performance, and security. Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Project Participation: Contribute to short- and mid-term projects, managing assigned tasks and communicating progress. Collaborate with engineers to meet technical and operational requirements.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine tasks such as backups, patching, and hotfixes. Monitor system capacity and recommend improvements for performance and reliability.
- Monitoring & Automation: Develop and implement monitoring tools, alerts, and automation scripts. Analyze health checks and provide actionable feedback. Integrate solutions with other platforms based on engineering requirements.
- Testing & Documentation: Participate in testing efforts, document environments, and ensure technical documentation is up to date.
- Performance & Metrics: Monitor SLAs and operational metrics. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and help desk efficiency.
- Production Support: Provide Level 2 support, escalate unresolved issues, and implement temporary or permanent solutions. Collaborate with vendors and architects as needed.
- Security & Compliance: Report and investigate security issues, analyze audit trails, and ensure adherence to security policies. Provide audit evidence and support compliance efforts.
- Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Knowledge Sharing: Stay current with emerging technologies and provide technical guidance to team members.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience.
- Typically requires 3-5 years of relevant experience deploying and/or administrating infrastructure solutions.
- Relevant certification is preferred.
- Requires strong knowledge and experience with multiple infrastructure solutions.
- Requires 3-5 years’ experience in each bold section or Equivalent Certifications:
- Networking (Cisco, Juniper)
- Routing Protocols (IGRP, EIGRP,OSPF,BGP)
- Load Balancing (F5, Citrix)
- Firewall Management (Untangle, Juniper, Fortinet)

- Coding (Go, Powershell, Python, bash)
- Version Control Systems (Gitlab, Github, AzureDevOps, BitBucket)
- Applicable Certifications:
- Technology specific – Versa
- MSCA
- CCNA Cisco Network install operations and troubleshooting
- CCNP Cisco Advanced certification for network expertise
- CCIE CCIE- Cisco's most prestigious network certification
- F5-CA F5 BIG-IP Administrator
- F5-CTS F5 BIG-IP Certified Technology Specialist
- F5-CSE F5 BIG-IP Certified Solutions Expert
