We are seeking a permanent NERC Compliance Engineer to join our System Protection and Control Department in Winnipeg,
Manitoba.
Responsibilities:
•Lead in the implementation and development of compliance processes for mandatory NERC Reliability standards including
CIP, PRC, ICS and Operations and Planning Standards for CS PCME managed converter station assets.
•Work with the NERC Compliance team, HVDC Reliability Project team, and other stakeholders to identify gaps and develop
processes and tactics to effectively coordinate and ensure successful completion of NERC compliance tasks required as part
of the HVDC Reliability Project.
•Actively seek out and keep abreast of NERC compliance best practice for HVDC systems and provide input to the HVDC
Reliability Project and other ongoing converter station projects to ensure NERC compliance best practices are appropriately
considered for the entire project lifecycle.
•Develop and implement improvements in software tools, processes, and databases to further mature Manitoba Hydro's NERC
compliance readiness and reduce risks of non-compliance.
•Assist with and when required coordinate converter station stakeholder response to external regulatory audits.
•Provide technical analysis and lead investigations into potential violations, including root cause analysis, developing and
implementing strategies to mitigate and resolve identified potential or actual compliance violations associated with converter
station assets.
•Recommend, develop, document, communicate and implement changes to compliance procedures based on industry
practices, process efficiency improvements, and changing best practice.
•Prepare and deliver presentations and training courses regarding compliance activities, programs, and requirements to
internal stakeholders.
•Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships and open communication with other HVDC operational,
maintenance, and asset management stakeholders.
Qualifications:
•Graduate in Computer or Electrical Engineering from a university of recognized standing.
•Minimum six years' relevant or related experience.
•Registered as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba.
•Demonstrated knowledge of NERC CIP, PRC, and other relevant standards.
•Demonstrated ability to task manage complex projects with varied stakeholders.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, both orally and in writing, including documentation
of procedures, test results, recommendations, root causes analysis, and work status.

Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $47.32-$65.33 Hourly,
$90,677.86-$125,192.08 Annually.
