Crow Precision Components, LLC (Crow) is a forge manufacturing company based in Fort Worth, Texas. Crow is a division of WHI Global, LLC, (www.whiglobal.com). Crow’s 98,000 square foot manufacturing facility operates 2 shifts; and its capacity includes 6 hammers, 12 hydraulic presses, and a screw press. Crow is NADCAP certified to perform Heat Treat and Non-Destructive Testing. Crow is ISO 9001 and AS 9100D certified.
This position performs non-destructive testing (NDT) using Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle testing to ensure forgings are being produced per manufacturing plans and meet required specifications. This position reports to the Manager, Quality Assurance. This position will also receive workload priority and safety instructions from the Grinding Supervisor and / or Leadman.
The essential functions of this position will include, but not be limited to:
Performing daily, weekly, and monthly equipment verifications for each NDT inspection method.
Measure parts to ensure conformance to drawing and specification requirements.
Inspecting parts for discontinuities using Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle testing.
Properly identify unacceptable discontinuities according to industry and / or customer specifications.
Timely and accurately document the execution of the inspection plan.
- Maintain detailed records of observations and all identified quality issues.
Communicate quality findings to Forge Supervisors, Leadmen, and Quality Manager.
- Communication may involve verbal instructions, Quality Assurance forms, or basic written memos / instructions.
Issue NDT certificates as evidence of completion and acceptance of required NDT inspections.
Develop written techniques for Magnetic Particle inspection to identify equipment and testing requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
A working command of the English language (verbal and written).
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus, but it is not required.
High school diploma or GED certificate is required.
- Trade school certifications are desired but not required.
Current NDT Level II Inspector certification (copies of certification required).
- Completion of 40 hours training by a certified NDT Level III Inspector.
1 – 2 years of experience as an NDT Level II Inspector with experience in both Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle testing
1 – 3 years of manufacturing experience (forging and aerospace experience desired but not required).
Basic computer skills are necessary to complete computerized documentation.
Ability to work independently and closely follow directions.
Available to work weekends and overtime as may be required.
Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 pounds for short periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee will regularly lift and / or move up to 50lbs. Exposure to hot/cold work environment during summer/winter. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. While in the shop the use of personal protective equipment is required.
