Main Purpose:

Trafigura is seeking a driven Natural Gas Originator to spearhead the development of a Western Canadian natural gas marketing book. This role will leverage our existing success in the Canadian crude lease business and US Gas customer base to establish a strong foothold in the dynamic Western Canadian natural gas market.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:* Develop and execute strategies to build a robust natural gas marketing book in Western Canada, focusing on physical structured products with the support of our upstream finance team.

•

Conduct in-depth analysis of market conditions, price trends, and supply-demand dynamics for natural gas in Western Canada and surrounding regions to identify trading opportunities.

•

Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate exposure to price fluctuations and other market risks associated with natural gas trading activities.

•

Execute physical gas trades to support and advance the company's natural gas business objectives in Western Canada and surrounding regions.

•

Collaborate closely with the Gas, LNG, Power, Crude, and Emissions trading desks, sharing information, optimizing assets, and providing trading liquidity support.

•

Build and maintain strong, credible, and long-lasting relationships with key industry players across all segments – Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream – representing Trafigura as the primary commercial "face to the market" with Canadian gas counterparties.

Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Proficiency in risk management techniques and a deep understanding of the associated regulatory and compliance requirements.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Department

The Natural Gas Origination team is part of Trafigura's broader Gas & Power Trading division, which is responsible for managing the company's global natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and power trading activities. The team works closely with other trading desks, including Crude, Emissions, and Upstream Finance, to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, optimize assets, and provide trading liquidity support.
