Primary Function: To inspect and repair natural gas systems, focusing on leak detection and safety. This includes conducting inspections, using gas measurement instruments, performing minor repairs, and accurately reporting results electronically. The role also requires strong communication, multitasking, proficiency with software tools, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Compensation ranges from $31-33/hr depending on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Perform external surface inspection to ensure there is for visible corrosion
•Conduct leak testing using a GMI (gas measurement instrument)
•Report results on a mobile device with an installed application.
•Maintain a high level of worksite health and safety.
•Perform all duties associated with a Service Line Inspector and/or NGD Installation Technician.
•Utilize provided toolkit to repair any minor gas leaks within the restrictions of the Rover Mechanic scope of work.
•Complete minor “screwdriver and wrench repairs” to remedy a gas leak on an indoor gas meter sets as directed by Supervisor
•Perform Rover Mechanic scope of work which includes the tightening of mcvs, swivel nuts, pressure taps, or HOS grease plug valves.
•Perform accurate reporting of actions taken on multiple electronic systems as required by Storti Quality Services
•Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
•Proficient with Microsoft Windows (browser)
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Excellent customer service skills.
•Be able to multitask and respond quickly with clear three-way communication to any call for leak repair response and dispatch.
•Ability to work independently and take initiative to perform tasks.
•Ability to perform with a high level of accuracy
•Ability to meet project deadlines
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or GED is required
•Current certification as an A-Mechanic is required
•A minimum of one year of construction or mechanical experience is required
•Previous utility customer experience is desired
•OSHA 10-30 or HAZWOPER training is preferred
Additional:
•Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
•Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Demands:
•Duties are performed primarily in an outdoor setting with exposure to changing weather conditions.
•Position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds
•Position requires the ability to climb up and down ladders
•Must be able to perform moderate physical activity including somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
•Ambulatory across uneven surfaces, frequent bending at knees and waist.
•The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers and clients. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
