Responsibilities

- Learn, live and promote Century Aluminum's Safety Mission Statement, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment

- Log onto SAP system to receive, update and properly close, write work orders, purchase order parts and record hours worked on orders by entering data into predetermined fields. May receive printed work orders from supervisor or customer.

- Performs safety checks on forklifts, other vehicles, cranes, and machines operated following check list / form.

- Monitors radio and respond to calls from operators, maintenance, or supervisory personnel reporting Electrical failures or malfunctions.

- Cleans tools, equipment, and work areas daily. Stows tools in proper areas, returns vehicles, cranes, lifts, and hoists to appropriate areas and positions.

- Performs lockouts on equipment and re-energizes once repair is complete.

- Repairs hydraulic pistons, motors, pumps, jacks, and their associated parts such as solenoid coils, accumulators, spools, impellers, vanes, gears, bearings, and seals.

- Works on a variety of mobile equipment such as: Forklifts, trucks, front-end loaders, mobile cranes, cars, vans, pickups, and sweepers.

- Repairs and fabricates metal equipment and machinery by welding, cutting, drilling, bending, shaping and brazing following blueprints, sketches, and drawings.

Requirements

- 2+ years' experience of both Electrical & Mechanical work in Manufacturing, or Industrial Environment, or equivalent Military experience

- Ability to demonstrate through written and oral testing their working knowledge of mechanical and electrical fields.

- High school diploma or GED Equivalent or ability to pass Reading and Math Assessment administered by Century Aluminum.

- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to extreme temperatures

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks that require standing, walking, crouching, climbing, lifting and balancing for extended periods of time

- Must be able to work on a rotational shift schedule that may include 12-hour day and night shifts

- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check

- Ability to wear issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a respirator, hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, industrial boots, and Flame-Resistant clothing

- Must have strong attention to safety, and the ability to remain focused and detail-oriented in an environment with occupational hazards

- Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

- Preferred candidates have a history of reliable employment, with a minimum of 1-year at previous employers
