Mini Excavator Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mini Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, particularly mini excavators, and possess a strong understanding of construction site safety and procedures. This role involves working on various projects that require precise excavation and earth-moving tasks, contributing to the successful completion of construction projects.

Responsibilities

- Operate mini excavators safely and efficiently on construction sites to perform excavation, trenching, and grading tasks.

- Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment at job sites.

- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on excavators to ensure optimal functioning.

- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans accurately and within deadlines.

- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

- Support for directional boring machine.

- Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to execute excavation tasks accordingly.

- Must not be scared to occasionally use a shovel.

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating mini excavators in a construction setting.

- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

- Experience with other construction machinery including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, grader operation, water truck, tanker, and paving equipment is preferred.

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is a plus.

- Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures.

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.

- Prior experience with horizontal drilling or other specialized construction techniques is advantageous but not required. This position offers an opportunity for professional growth within the heavy construction industry for qualified candidates committed to safety and quality workmanship.

Pay: $25.57 - $30.79 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
