YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

You will be reporting to the the Technical Service Manager you will be part of theTechnical Serivces Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Mine Planning and Scheduling
+ Deliver integrated mine plans at all planning horizons: daily, weekly, 13-week, annual budget and forecasts + Ensure mine plans are executable, optimized for cost and productivity, and aligned with orebody knowledge and operational capabilities + Oversee the preparation of drill and blast designs, haulage profiles, dump plans, and stockpile strategies + Work closely with short-term planners to convert medium-term strategies into actionable daily plans

Cross-Departmental Collaboration
+ Facilitate strong communication between mine planning, operations, geology, geotechnical, and maintenance departments + Lead weekly planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment between plan and execution + Support the development and adjustment of mining sequences to reflect actual field conditions and geotechnical feedback

Design and Compliance
+ Ensure all pit designs, slopes, roads, dumps, and other infrastructure comply with company standards and regulatory requirements + Integrate geotechnical, environmental, and permitting constraints into mine designs and schedules

Leadership and Team Development
+ Lead, coach, and develop a team of planning and drill & blast engineers, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement + Assign workloads and monitor delivery to ensure adherence to planning schedules and technical quality + Support professional development through mentoring and training opportunities + Champion a culture of safety by ensuring all mine planning activities and designs prioritize health, safety, and environmental standards

Performance Monitoring and Improvement
+ Monitor performance against plans (e.g., tonnes, grade, ounces, strip ratio) and support reconciliation efforts + Identify and drive business improvement initiatives related to planning systems, mine-to-mill alignment, and operational efficiency

Reporting and Communication
+ Produce high-quality technical reports, presentations, and plan updates for internal and external stakeholders + Support budget, reserve, and forecast updates with accurate mine planning inputs


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering with eligibility for P.Eng registration with the PEO
Minimum 10 years’ senior technical and operational experience in a mining environment
Experience with MineSight, MineSched and Surpac considered a strong asset
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint



Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 5 days of work followed by 2 days off and 4 days of work followed by 3 days off at our Detour Lake mine site.
Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
