•Ensure safe work systems and procedures are always practised

Knowledge / Skills / Duties
•Ensure all geological tasks are completed safely and in accordance with company policies, procedures, systems and Mines and Mining Regulations
•Maintain attention to detail when observing and recording lithology, mineralisation, and structures in drill core
•Assign sample intervals to accurately capture mineralisation
•Maintain data integrity in data capture and database storage
•Ensure effective communication with other geologists, geological technicians and drilling contractors
•Ensure compliance with Sugar Zone processes and procedure
•Communicate relevant geological information to operational personnel to enhance understanding of geology practices
•Provide supervision to grade control exploratory drilling and drilling timesheet validation and capture
•Update and review current and new procedures relating to geology
Teamwork
•Communicate and promote effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
•Communicate relevant information and data to other personnel through formalised shift changes and use data reporting systems
Planning & Organisation
•Prioritise and complete tasks accurately as to specifications as assigned by your supervisor within required timeframes
•Be punctual to work and all required site meetings
•Undertake other duties as lawfully instructed

Experience, Qualifications/Statutory Certifications and essential skills required
•Formal qualifications in Geology; Minimum requirements of a B.Sc., Earth Sciences would be preferred
•Basic understanding of an exploration geology role with exposure to exploration and various exploration techniques
•Working knowledge of exploration software would be an asset
•Advanced Microsoft Office Suite use
•Experience in Leapfrog Geo, QGIS or other software would be an asset
•Valid G-Class driver’s license
