Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to join our team. The Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment used in the production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Install and align machinery, industrial equipment, conveyors, and other mechanical systems.
•Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematic drawings to properly assemble and install machinery.
•Align equipment using appropriate tools and methods (e.g., lasers, dial indicators) to ensure precise setup.
•Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, including lubrication, adjustment, and part replacement to minimize downtime.
•Diagnose and repair equipment failures, including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
•Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, including bearing replacements, motor repairs, and drive system adjustments.
•Machinery Upgrades and Modifications:
•Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to modify or upgrade existing machinery for improved efficiency or to accommodate new production requirements.
•Assist in machine commissioning, testing, and calibration to ensure optimal performance.
•Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures during equipment maintenance or repairs.
•Conduct regular safety inspections of machinery and mechanical systems and report any potential hazards.
•Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
•Documentation and Reporting:
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, part replacements, and equipment performance reports.
•Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and corrective actions to the supervisor in a timely manner.
•Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
•Equipment and Tool Management:
•Properly maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and stored in an organized manner.
•Use specialized tools and equipment such as hoists, welding machines, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic devices.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or technical certification is preferred.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience as a millwright in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably within the minerals or mining industry.
•Strong mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment, including motors, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
•Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
•Welding and fabrication skills are an asset.
•Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines.
•Knowledge of safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and OSHA regulations.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
•Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment, with exposure to noise, dust, high temperatures, and industrial equipment.
•Must be physically capable of performing tasks such as climbing, lifting to 55lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
•PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and steel-toed boots, must be always worn.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
