POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum Company, LP has openings for Millwright/Machinist at its refinery in Garyville, LA.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Installs, repairs and maintains rotating equipment within the refinery including pumps, compressors and blowers.

- Operates machine shop tools (i.e. lathes, milling machines) and vibration analysis equipment.

- Updates maintenance logs, work orders, and service history accurately and timely.

- Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- High School Diploma or GED is required

- Minimum of 3 years of industrial millwright/machinist experience required - educational time spent earning Millwright/Machinist degree/certification may count toward the 3-year requirement

- Familiarity with machine shop equipment and with basic millwright hand tools (i.e. inside micrometers, outside micrometers, dial indicators, dial calipers and acceptable method of shaft alignment) required Experience working with centrifugal and reciprocating compressors preferred

- A valid driver's license is required

- A Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required upon hire

- NCCER certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- All Maintenance Craft positions work in various environmental conditions in the refinery. This may include but is not limited to working indoors, such as maintenance shops, outdoors in open areas, process units, at heights and confined spaces with or without respiratory protection and limited mobility.

- Must be able to stand, walk, lift and carry 50-pounds.


SAFETY:

- Mechanical Technicians work in a safety-sensitive environment and must successfully complete a rigorous pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check.


SCHEDULE:

- Technicians work either a four-ten schedule (Monday – Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm) OR a rotating shift schedule. All applicants should be willing to work either schedule as assigned.

- All technicians must be available for overtime as required.
