Position Summary

Working as part of an interdependent maintenance team, the Millwright will possess the ability to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install and update mechanical systems and components. The Millwright is a key member of the facility's maintenance team and will undertake activities associated with the continuous improvement of equipment and operations.

Job Duties

Some examples of job duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Perform a variety of duties as assigned to maintain the linerboard machine and mill equipment.

- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of mill equipment

- Perform scheduled and planned maintenance repairs of equipment

- Execute machining and welding responsibilities as requested.

- Perform a range of mechanic skills that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and troubleshooting

- Read and interpret blueprints and manuals to perform required maintenance

- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform refurbishments as requested

- Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment throughout the mill.

- Detect faulty or failing equipment and report any unusual situations to proper supervision.

- Comply with all mill safety responsibilities and maintain clean and orderly work areas

Skills & Abilities

- MIG/TIG welding capabilities preferred

- Ability to work independently

- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills necessary.

- Ability to read and understand equipment and training manuals

- Good problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Qualifications

- Minimum of five (5) years of applied maintenance experience in a large-scale industrial environment.

- Maintenance education or training (Boces, trade school, etc.) a plus.3-5 years diesel mechanic experience is required

Physical Demands

Some examples of the physical demands of this job include but are not limited to the following:

- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

- Manual dexterity and frequent use of both hands
