About Us – Mako Mining Corp is a publicly listed gold mining, development and exploration company. The Company operates the high-grade San Albino gold mine in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, which ranks as one of the highest-grade open pit gold mines globally and offers district-scale exploration potential. Mako also owns the Moss Mine in Arizona, an open pit gold mine in northwestern Arizona. Mako also holds a 100% interest in the PEA-stage Eagle Mountain Project in Guyana, South America. Eagle Mountain is the subject of engineering, environmental and mine permitting activity. Mako US Corp (a subsidiary of Mako Mining Corp.) is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Mid-Level Process Engineer.

About this role – Mid-Level Process Engineer

Responsibilities

- Support commissioning, ramp-up, and operation of CIL/CIP, heap leach, or related gold recovery facilities

- Assist with metallurgical test work, data collection, and performance monitoring of processing circuits

- Track and analyze plant KPIs (recovery, leach kinetics, reagent consumption, solution balances) to identify optimization opportunities

- Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training of plant personnel

- Participate in plant surveys, troubleshooting, and improvement projects

- Provide technical input into safety and environmental compliance in processing areas

- Collaborate with senior engineers, mining, geology, and environmental teams to ensure smooth integration of the mine and process plant.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical, chemical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent)

- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in gold processing, preferably with CIL/CIP, additional heap leach operations experience a plus

- Experience with commissioning, metallurgical test work, or plant optimization highly regarded

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with a hands-on approach

- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement

- A valid passport is required for international travel

Working Conditions

- Tucson office-based modeling work and field-based exploration / mine site duties

- Exposure to outdoor and mining environments, including open pit and underground settings

- May require FIFO / DIDO roster or extended stays during critical construction and operational phases
