Looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and detail oriented person with demonstrated technical skills and a minimum of 5-10 years experience in industrial mining, metals and petrochemical engineering/design.
- Provide pipe stress analysis using Caesar II software.
- Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for pressure vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, filter presses, rotating equipment and other process equipment.
- Review vendor documents for compliance to project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform technical and economic evaluations of supplier quotations, bid tabulations, and prepare recommendations.
- Make decisions concerning problems within the project and among the disciplines on projects and resolves technical questions.
- Perform hydraulic calculations (using Pipe Flow software).
- Research equipment to specification requirements. Direct contact with equipment suppliers.
- Prepare scope of work and construction technical specifications.
- Prepare cost estimates in accordance with project scopes, technical specifications and technical reports.
- Identify quality requirements and ensure the proper processes are identified and implemented to achieve contractual quality commitments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be US citizen.
- Licensed PE preferred.
- 5-10 years experience in consulting engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in the independent development of scope alternatives and engineering requirements.
- Adept ability to design specialty mechanical equipment for heavy industry based on client’s unique requirements.
- Experience in the design and specification of industrial equipment, piping, and HVAC with knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, accepted design practices, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of and familiarity with regulation, industry codes (API, NFPA, ASME, Piping code, etc.), and standards affecting complex engineering design.
- Demonstrated experience in instrumentation and controls: Process Flow Diagrams, Process Instrumentation Diagrams, equipment lists and selections.
- Familiarity with fire protection systems.
- Background in heat exchangers, rotating equipment, bridge cranes, metal processing and materials handling.
- Demonstrated experience as a project design engineer in the heavy industrial fields of mining, metals and petrochemicals.
- Demonstrated ability to speak, read, and write English with native fluency.
- Demonstrated computer skills for engineering applications, project scheduling, spreadsheets, 3D software viewer (FluidFlow III, MS Project, Caesar II, etc.).
