Join our dynamic and growing team as a Civil Engineer supporting site development, infrastructure design, and permitting projects across Connecticut and beyond. This position is primarily remote - offering the flexibility and benefit of working from home, while also collaborating closely with our in-house engineers, surveyors, and designers. Ideal candidates will have at least 3-5 years of experience specifically in Site Design including land development, stormwater management, and civil site design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Strong communication and time management skills are essential. EIT is preferred in this role but dependent on the individual.
Responsibilities
•Collaborate closely with other engineering and architecture disciplines within Freeman Companies and with outside consultants to ensure project success.
•Manage project schedules, progress tracking, and reporting to ensure timely completion.
•Design and oversee land development, site planning, stormwater management, and erosion control systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
•Present design solutions and project findings to clients and the project team.
•Provide leadership in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and applying technical solutions to complex civil engineering challenges.
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
•3-5 years of civil engineering experience specifically related to site design, land development and land use permitting.
•Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D is required.
•Experience in MicroStation preferred.
•Familiarity with CT Drainage Manual, DEEP Water Quality Manual, and CT Guidelines for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control.
•Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills and design skills.
•You must be a self-performer in this remote role and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
