Meter Reader

We are currently hiring for a Meter Reader for our Electric & Water department. The meter reader is responsible for accurately monitoring and recording customers’ use of water and electricity by reading and recording the usage displayed by utility meters.

Essential Functions:

- Read meters and enter data into hand held computers

- Verify readings in cases where consumption appears to abnormal and record possible reasons for fluctuations

- Inspect meters for unauthorized connections, defects, and damage

- Report any problems such as meter irregularities, damaged equipment, or impediments to meter access, including dogs, landscaping, fences, gates, etc

Requirements, Education, Special Training:

- HS Diploma or equivalent

- Extended periods of sitting/standing; frequent walking; occasional lifting 10-20 lbs; bending, reaching, stooping, and other ranges of motion as needed to carry out essential job functions

- Significant amount of driving & getting in & out of vehicles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.70 - $25.51 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
