Purpose

Are you ready to make a difference in your community and enjoy working outdoors? We are looking for a dedicated Meter Reader to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with the public and ensuring accuracy in their work.


Accountabilities

Accurately read meters and reset or replace as needed

Install and maintain water services, including setting and changing out meters, performing minor service repairs, and assisting with meter and register replacements
Perform leak repairs and help maintain and repair water mains, valves, fire hydrants, and service lines
Utilize PC tablets to process and complete field service orders and related documentation efficiently
Support delinquent disconnects and reconnects
Assist with water main installation, including tapping, disinfecting, testing, and connecting mains and appurtenances
Help set up safe and effective traffic control around work areas
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment
Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required

Possess a Grade 1 Water Distribution Certificate issued by the SWRCB, or ability to obtain within 6 months
Valid driver's license and clean driving record to safely operate a company vehicle
Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate and use standard software applications
Must be comfortable using tools such as the Customer Information System (CIS) program or similar platforms to complete service orders, input data, and communicate effectively
Strong ability to interact professionally with the public
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Sharp eye for accuracy and detail
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Compenstion


Expected pay: $22.43 - $25.00 per hour

Full salary range: $22.43 - $33.65 per hour

Liberty considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, training and skills, and geographic location. Base pay for this role is expected to fall within the min to mid-point.*
